Baird T & P Depot

Visit our nice little West Central Texas town! You'll find lots of antique stores and a couple of fine restaurants on the way to our museum south of I-20 at exit 307. The museum and visitors center is located at 100 Market St. in Baird, Texas. The museum is always a work in progress. Many interesting exhibits from the T & P railroad; the Bankhead highway; a horse named Traveler, who worked on building the railroad before his illustrious history as an AQHA foundation horse and many more. Admission is always free! If you are a local in the area, think about volunteering some time to work on the museum! We gather on Wednesdays and always hear many interesting tales of local history and discuss upcoming exhibits. We'd love to see you!

  1. You have a great ambassador for your museum in Lee Abernathy. He enthusiastically shared about the museum to the docents at Frontier Texas in Abilene. We posted a note about your Facebook page on the Frontier Texas page as well. Keep up the great work preserving and promoting regional history!
